THE BIRDS
A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at Mere Down Falconry set alongside a beautiful valley at Manor Farm, Mere on the Wiltshire/Dorset border just 5 minutes off the A303.The valley is around 400 acres of unspoilt natural down land with an array of wildlife for
you to see.
The Falconry opened full time in April 2008 and has grown over the past couple of years and now has around 20 Birds of Prey, 9 species of Owl, Hawks and Falcons. Our reputation is growing as well and we have become one of the best flying experiences in the area.
The Falconry is owned and run by Allan & Alison Gates and it is our aim to make your time with us as relaxing as possible with a laid back approach and run at your pace giving you the time to
get up close and personnel with these wonderful birds.
The full day flying experience has a maximum of two people with guests. The half day experience has a maximum of four people and guests. This is done to make sure each person gets plenty of handling and flying of the birds.
2 Hour family handling SESSION so that all the family can have a
great time with us.
PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION an ideal gift for the amateur or semi-pro photographer. 2 hours photgraphing our lovely birds in some spectactular scenery.
HAWK WALKS around our beautiful valley with a Harris Hawk as company for families or groups.
gift vouchers are also available for that unusual and surprise present. The recipient after receiving the voucher just rings us and books a date to suit.
If the weather is to bad to fly the birds don't panic as we will organise a new date.
school, clubs and group visits can be catered for just contact us to sort out your requirements.
